About Nicholas A. Price |

| |
Nicholas A. Price is an international fine art photographer, sculptor and painter. Originally from England, Price lives and works in the USA. He has a reputation as a major contributor to the visual arts in Southern Nevada and in the United States, whose work is collected in more than 35 countries having created major art projects both in the private and public domain. His Destiny Jewelry is exclusively available at the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Las Vegas
Although Price has experienced great commercial success with his private clientele, his passion lies in establishing himself further by pursuing opportunities to create and display his work for public domain.
His latest photography projects have drawn him to the world of publishing with several book's being announced over 2007-2009. His archives include more than 35,000 photographic images. Choosing only to work in traditional methods, Price shoots predominantly in traditional black and white 35mm film, with a small proportion of works in color. He does not use image manipulation to produce artistic and professional quality work. His most personal work includes intimate and candid portraits of our nations military personnel, street photography and natural studies of the Western United States. He recently completed a yearlong project photographing the U.S. Air Force and was granted unique and exclusive access. This exhibition will conclude its national tour with a six-month display in the Hall of Honor at the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio in October 2007. Over 650,000 people are expected to see the exhibition.
In terms of local public art, Price is the first artist to have installed large-scale contemporary art and sculpture throughout floors 2-8 of the landmark Lloyd D.George Federal Building in Downtown Las Vegas. The $250,000 display has had overwhelmingly positive reviews. Irwin Molasky and Molasky Properties commissioned Price to create the first public art and signature sculpture in the Bank of America Plaza on Downtown Las Vegas Boulevard as part of their $1.3 million refurbishment project. The sculpture project called "Upward Trends" is considered a first in illustrating a successful commercial collaboration of art and the private sector. It has been hailed as putting Las Vegas on the national art map. The City of North Las Vegas has recently joined with Price for a five-year program to display works of art in public spaces across town. The program dubbed the Nicholas A. Price/City of North Las Vegas Community Partnership Program for Art in Public Domain aims to provide ongoing education, workshops and outreach programs targeting at-risk youth and children with special needs. The program also will provide art tours, seminars, training, school visits and presentations on Price's artwork. Other recent commissions include four individual signature sculptures for a development of four multi-million dollar homes in the exclusive development of Southshore in Lake Las Vegas, Henderson. Not only are Exclusive Estates LLC the first developers in Henderson to commission signature art for their custom home developments, Price has set a precedent by being the first artist to have one of the commissioned artworks presented in full public view of Lake Las Vegas and the prestigious development of Southshore.
Other Price art aficionados include world-renowned primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall and Keely Shaye Brosnan, wife of actor Pierce Brosnan. |
